Support Services
KPP’s two main support programs are Outreach and Supportive Housing. Both are funded through Ontario Health and are offered to people over the age of 16 who have physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries or have challenges related to their age. The areas we service are Peterborough City and County, Northumberland, City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton. Participants must need personal support services to be eligible for KPP services. This means help with personal hygiene, eating, dressing or mobility. In addition to personal care, we can also offer homemaking services such as help with housecleaning, laundry, shopping and preparing meals.
Outreach support takes place in client homes with scheduled visits from a Personal Support Worker (PSW). Application for this program is through the KPP website at www.kpp.ca or by filling out the application attached to this cover sheet and returning it to our office at 77 Towerhill Road, Peterborough, ON; K9H 7N3.
Supportive Housing includes housing and PSW supports that are available 24/7. Housing in this program is usually affordable and applicants must meet some eligibility criteria related to their income and a few other factors. In Peterborough, application for this program is through Housing Access Peterborough (HAP) at www.peterborough.ca/hap or 705-748-8830. Currently, Supportive Housing locations in areas outside of Peterborough are limited. Please contact our office for more information if you are looking for this service outside of Peterborough. Once we receive your completed Outreach or Supportive Housing application, we will book a time with you to do further assessment to see if you qualify for our services. If so, you will be added to a waitlist for when we have housing or supports that meet your needs. Wait times can vary, depending on when units and/or support comes available.
